I'm a fellow resident on the 3rd floor. For several months there's been a deep, low-frequency hum and vibration — ranging from faint to strongly intrusive, often loudest in the evenings — that comes through my ceiling. It's a steady drone rather than a bang or footsteps, and usually clearest late in the evening. It seems strongest on the 3rd floor, but may carry to other units and floors — so it's worth a listen wherever you live.
